On my BB 8700g 4.5 when I try to open SugarSync I get this message: "the application sugarsync has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy." How can I get in? Thanks.

Hi Suhasinikuma, Thank you for your reply. There are no incoming messages blocked and when I try to disable the Firewall there is no option to do so. It is my own private phone so there is no IT administrator to contact.

Hi,

When you are trying to open a third party application on the BlackBerry smartphone, the following error message is displayed: The application {application name} has attempted to open a connection inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy. This issue is caused by a restriction in the BlackBerry smartphone's firewall.
To remove the firewall restriction, complete the following steps:

  1. On your BlackBerry smartphone, go to Options > Security Options > Firewall.
  2. De-select Enterprise Messaging.
  3. If this does not work, turn off the firewall by selecting Disable in the Status field. If you are not able to turn off the firewall, contact your IT Administrator as there is an IT policy restricting your firewall settings.
Hope I helped you.
Thank you for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!

How to Share Files on SugarSync Manager on Windows?

Run SugarSync Manager and log in

Navigate through your files and folders under SugarSync until you find the folder to use for collaboration. To navigate folders, just double-click on the folders.

Right-click on the folder. This will bring out the context menu.
26319258-bxzhjmonsmllydp0qa2riq2g-2-5.jpg

Go to "SugarSync" and select "Share." The Share window will appear.
26319258-bxzhjmonsmllydp0qa2riq2g-2-9.jpg

Click on the "Share Privately" button on the left of the Share window. Only people you invite will be able to join this private shared folder.
26319258-bxzhjmonsmllydp0qa2riq2g-2-20.jpg

Choose the recipients. Under the Recipients box, type in the email addresses of all the people you want to share this folder with. These people will need SugarSync accounts in order to join your shared folder.

Add a personal message. There is a text box under "Recipients" where you can add a custom or personal message to welcome them and give them a background of your folder. This is optional though.

Send the invitation. When you're ready, click on the "Send Invitation" button. An email will be sent to your recipients inviting them to join your shared folder. Once your recipients accept the invitation, your shared folder will be created, downloaded, and synced on their computers.

How to download song through computer to cellphone

Hi there - if you don't want to use a cable, my favourite solution is using free storage services like Dropbox or Sugarsync. They've got apps for most of the modern mobiles. If you do not have an account in one of those - you can use this links to create one, it's free (You don't have to use this links, but by using them you will give me some more free space on them. If You don't want to - just google them :D):
Sugarsync
Dropbox
When You have an account and installed a proper mobile app You just have to put your music files into a synchronised folder. It's always Dropbox folder for Dropbox and in Sugaresync you've got some predefined folders (like Magic Briefcase) and you can set as many sync folders as You want. Once your file is there You can get it by using your mobile app to download it to your phone. I use Sugarsync and Droper apps for Symbian.
If you will put your favourite collection of songs into sync folder - You will have an access to it everywhere. You will just need an internet connection and a computer or smartphone.

Purchased a .jarfile for my Droid X....but I am having problems downloading it to my phone....the last message it gave me was that it was an unsupprted download....is there any way to download a jar file?...

You could always "side load" it. I.E. download it to your computer, plug your DX in and enable "USB Mass Storage", then put it on the SD Card that way.
Your other options are to try some 3rd party apps, like Dropbox or Sugarsync.

My screen wont cut on and its giving me a red light that blinks twice over and over again

Try this:
1. Unplug BB from PC.
2. Launch the Application Loader like you were going to install something.
3. While the app loader is attempting to connect to the BB, plug the USB cable into the BB.
