When I try to eject the disc, the display reads [locked] and I do not know how to unlock, because in the remote control device does not have anything that says {locked/unlock.}

The eject button is just above the JVC logo on the display panel. When you press eject and if it displays "NO EJECT", then it is locked. Press and hold CD and Power (ATT) for more than two seconds.

I just had the same problem with the same model. Disc five was saying no disc and would not play any other discs. I opened the radio and found the the CD tray was missing a piece for disc five. You have to put the disc tray back into the holder to fix it. Make sure it locks in place and you should be able to get the rest to work.
The problem was that we could not find the instruction book. However, eventually we found it and were then able to unlock the cd player.Thank you for your assistence.
It wasn't a car cd player, but a component for a stereo. I took off the case and shook the player until the disc dropped out. We plan to replace the player, so no further help is needed. Thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
this generally means the laser is either dirty or the cd player is shot, err 01 is a disc reading problem. Try cleaning lens with cleaning disc first if this does not help i would replace the unit with another. i would recommend replacing it with a cheap aftermarket stereo.
On the unit, press the stop button and the cd eject button at the same time. The screen will say locked still. Release them and press them together again at the same time. The screen will now read unlocked. You can then eject the cd.
Mine is locked but it is a Sony Progressive Scan
when the eject button is not working
