Treo 755p (Sprint) Will not pull power from battery or AC
I can charge my phone forever (yesterday for 12 hours), and the battery appears to have 100% capacity. As soon as I attempt to use it like normal (I always have bluetooth, Google Maps, and Good Mobile Messaging ready for use; web surfing, etc), the phone just goes out. No power to the screen or kepboard. The phone powers off and I can't do anything to make it come back. I've taken it to the Sprint store and the "smart" tech says "somethimes you have to take out the battery for a few minutes". That is the most absurd thing I have ever heard. I got the phone in July and it has been working fine until three days ago.
I have performed all sorts of resets (hard--erased all data, soft--took out the battery and put it back in). When I plug in the AC (with the battery in) it will start up (Access, Palm screen). Then it presents the Auto date/time screen, and immediately says "your battery is seriously low. Shutting down in 30 seconds".
I can leave it off for a while and it seems to work fine when I turn it on, but within 30 - 60 minutes it will shut down again. I have tried surfing using Blazer, and it will just stop. Then I have to jump through hoops to get it back. Sometimes the screen blanks and no matter what I do it won't come back. But then it does come back on it's own. At about the same place I left it.
Right now my battery is at 89% and the phone appears to be working., for now.
Does anyone know what could be causing my PDA/"Smart"phone to freak out like this (even after multiple hard resets)?
Depending on how old or new (maybe a bad battery from factory), this is the only thing I found related -
My battery loses its charge very quickly
Like all Lithium Ion batteries, the battery in your device will
eventually wear out. If you charge your device fully but it loses power
after a few hours (or sooner), it may be time to replace the internal
battery. Arrange for a repair.
For best results, don't let your battery fully drain before
recharging. Lithium Ion batteries last longer if you "top them off"
frequently.

SPRINT DOESNT USE SIM CARDS ON THEIR PHONES THEY ARE CDMA (CodeDivisionMultipleAccess) AND IS NOT GSM LIKE ATT AND TMOBILE, YOU NEED TO CALL SPRINT AND PHONE SWAP THE ESN (ELECTRONIC SERIAL NUMBER) NUMBER UNDER THE BATERRY AND GIVE THE ESN TO SPRINT.
There are multiple reasons for the phone to go into an endless loop.
Fix #1 - Soft Reset - Take out the battery. On the back of your phone, pop the cover off, remove battery, place battery back in and it will show each screen once and power on normally.
Fix #2 - Hard Reset - To do a hard reset, hold the power button
while you replace the battery and then release it when the Palm logo
appears.
I do not believe that is possible. I worked for sprint for a lot of years and never heard of that being possible but I do not have too much experience with Palm with the exception of having Treos for several years.
I think your phone is going into to keyguard mode. Push the Red power button on the top right of the keyboard. Should come up with a keyguard lock screen at the botton of the screen. Push the center button on the 5-way navigation and you phone should function normally until it goes into to keyguard again. You will find the settings under preferences to either turn keyguard off or to adjust the time on it.
