Question about HP Pavilion dv9000z Notebook

Hp pavilion dv9005us NO sound problem

We recently acquired a hp pavilion dv9005us notebook from someone. We are pretty savvy around computers so we decided to take it and fix it.
Everything works fine and we even opened the notebook to look if everything was wired right but everything seemed fine. The notebook has no sound and after reinstalling drivers and running recommended audio tests that the hp support site had we still don't have sound. I am determined to get this puppy working. The Quickplay panel which is touch sensitive is lighted but won't work, and the volume control part is not lighted but the mute button is lighted. We tried taking the mute part off, and in the system made sure that no audio control was muted. Can you please help us?

Yes. Similar problem. Sound worked fine for about 4 months, and then overnight, I lost it. Not total mute, but only about 5% volume output when the indications are 100% Going to Control Panel doesn't work.

I'm using Vista Home Premium on this machine.

You may want to check to see if the speaker wire is connected to the audio board. You'll need to remove the Keyboard, palm rest, etc. It should be located toward the front of the LT.

Dv 9005us bad hard drive

Since you have a bad hard drive it is obvious that you have to get another one. EBay has some pretty good deals on them just input your model and hard drive information and purchase another one. Take the old out and install the new one you will need to re-install the Operating System back into your machine again. John

My HP pavilion dv9005us webcam is not working since upgrading to windows 7 64-bit

The camera program has been erased to attain the new windows system. The computer would require installingh separately another camera program. In this situation, the cameras defualt program may never be retrievable. Search on the network for camera programs that are compartible with the new system and the camera. It takes quite some times to search to capture a compartible prorgam to suit the changes that haev been attained. Usually visit microsoft software sites to acquire downloads compartible to the computer . Either download prorgams that capture cameras on the computer or download prorgams the are compartible to the camera on the computer. The process is quite technical. Easily said, perform a computer systesm update from the task bar list or prorgams. The computer searchs to compile any missig codes and produces recommendation on what is expected. If a missing prorgam were discovered, the computer displays the message and recommends the features, locations, statitics of the missing code to be acquirble from the internet or from retail.

My dv9005us becomes too hot. The GPU goes to 110 C in less than an hour and then shuts the laptop off. I can even put my hands on the desktop.

check out all the vents and take a can of compressed air to them make sure that they are free and clear of any blockadge see if that helps if not you may need to get inside it and see if the fans on the cpu are still working they're probably pretty dirty and causing problems
