When first turned on, the OLEVIA splash screen flickers with interference and emits high pitched noise if you leave it on too long. Turning off then back on sometimes four or five times eventually allows it to work properly.

The high pitched noise is coming from the Tcon board. It is not properly decoding the signal coming form the main board correctly. The only way to fix it is to replace the Tcon board. You might have a hard time coming across the part because Olevia has since gone out of business. Also, usually Tcon boards are not available sepertaly and most manufactures make you purchase the whole LCD panel of which the Tcon is included.

View sonic computer screen was dropped and now when you turn it on the picture comes on and then it emits a high pitched sound and turns off. any suggestions?

Sounds like you may have broke at least one of the lamps . The high pitch sound you are hearing is the high voltage that goes to it .

Fluctuating Power Issues on my 42in. Olevia

Tone,

Your television is overheating. If it is in an entertainment center, make sure there is breathing room. As a test, run a fan behind it and leav the fan on while you watch, see if you get more than 2 hours.

Letting it sit allows it to cool down.

High pitch buzzing and no picture

Your power supply, I mean the internal power suppy could be faulty, if you know how to deal with it, check it for abnormal oscillation, or get some help from someone who knows how to repair it.

Flickering crispy screen

maybe ur screen was put into a lot of magnetic interference. so check for any magnetic rays emitting devices like speaker adapters etc. a simple check would be to degauss( its in the screen properties). raja

TV won't stay turned on, no picture, started making high pitched noise

That high pitched noise you're hearing is the power supply telling you that it has too much of a load on it and lowered its operating frequency which in effect cuts its output way down! Normally you don't hear any thing since the power supply operates at a frequency that's beyond human hearing. In an RCA this indicates more than likely that your horizontal output transistor is shorted and this short was caused by the flyback transformer shorting. This is a common happening with RCA's You'd need to take to a tv shop and have it checked out. Stargazer
