I have a Whirlpool Washer model GHW9200LQ and a Whirlpool Dryer Model GEW9200LQO I have a problem with my clothes smelling bad after they are washed and dried. My towels you don't even want to dry with them the smell so bad. I have used Tide HE soap Gain He soap and I use a a softner in all loads. We are ready to go to another brand we are so upset with the smell of the clothes. Towels are the worst. Clothes are always put in dryer when they are done washing. Can you help? No any smell coming from a dryer is not "normal," no matter what anyone tries to tell you. I would seek a replacement model immediately. You are not the first to complain about this model. Likewise, I would seriously consider a replacement for the washer as well, even though the smell has diminished. I hope this helps and good luck!
The following are the methods you can avoid odor in clothes.
Check that the drain line is clear
Check the drain hose for kinks or blockages
Check pump for blockages
Check for build up of soap in the outer tub
Check for article of clothing stuck in the outer tub
