Had the same problem. it may be a static problem. I pulled it off the dock and put my fingers on the prongs of the unit and dock to ground everything out. now it works fine.

I've got the same problem. In looking around at the blogs, one guy said to plug the antenna in only halfway on the docking station and it works fine. I haven't tried it yet but thought I would pass it along.

Sirius Stiletto 100 (10) Bought mine used, downloaded the manual...nothing in there says you must power up the cradle or you will get an antenna not found error, even when the antenna is plugged in solid.

    This worked!!

Hi, the receiver reads antenna not found. I know the radio itself is working as my husband plugged his Blackberry into it and played Pink Floyd. Also, the receiver is not lighting up like it used to when...

If the screen is dim, then try a new antenna. Dim screen = shorted antenna connection. If that doesn't solve it, sell it for parts on eBay, you'll get like $5-$20 depending on if it's subscribed.

Which plug(connection) on bottom of ST5 sirius radio is the antenna plug?? keeps losing the antenna, i have replaced the base with the same error ocuring

The small, gold, circular connector on the bottom of the unit. You can purchase a repair on eBay if the antenna connection has loosened itself from the board.

Radio shows antenna not deteted or acquiring signal but does not work . antenna and all connections are good, ??

The problem is likely the actual connection inside the Starmate. It sounds like you have tried alternate antennas, which can only mean the unit itself has an issue. What has likely happened is the antenna jack inside the radio has come loose and is no longer making a connection, in which case it could be repairable. Otherwise there are plenty of other 12v Sirius receivers compatible with the same connections if you are looking to replace the head unit.

Sirius satellite radio

Make sure the antenna has a good line of sight. Sirus works best when pointed in an Easterly direction. By default you should get channel 184 if there is no service activated on the radio.

All Sirius radios can be used for service only in the United States and Canada.

If you feel that the line of sight is ok and there are no obstructions from pointing your antenna either out of a window, on top of the car, or outside if it is used in a house, then try a different antenna. If you are using the smaller guage antenna wire, the connections can break inside during installation in a car from time to time.

If the radio is factory installed contact sirius at 1-888-539-7474 to see if they can see the radio on their end.

"no antenna" message

it could be the wire that connects from the actual antenna and the radio. Even if it is new it might just be wrong from the factory.

SIRUIUS SPORTSTER

Satellite radio antennas do tend to fail sometimes. In the early days of Sirius/XM they were made a lot better, but now I've had problems with them a lot more frequently. If the antenna is plugged in securely and it still shows the 'antenna' error code, you most likely need to replace your antenna. It is possible that something else along the antenna signal path is causing your problem - Sometimes the antenna connections in the dock or the receiver itself can cause the issue, but most likely it is the antenna.

No antenna detected

i had the same problem and had to return the antenna to radio shack to get a replacement. the guy said that the antenna had a crack in it from the cold weather or water got into the antenna and that is why it malfunctioned.
