I have a Maytag model MER5775QAW free standing range. When you press "bake" and then set the temp. and press "bake" again the numbers instantly climb to the set temp and the buzzer beeps showing oven at temp. The oven does not even turn on. The oven probe has a resistance of 1089 ohms at room temp and increases when place over a heat gun. Any ideas where to look next?

Unplug the range open the control panel to access the electronic oven control. Unplug the wires and wait 5 minutes. Replace all wires on the control and turn the power back on.
If this does not reset your oven control it must be replaced.
Your ERC(clock) is bad and must be replaced.

Will not fully heat to temp setting; takes 2 min B4 gas ignition 2 heat.

Time for the gas valve to open fully can be a few minutes, I've seen them take up to 3 minutes to open, so its not unusual. Hoverer, the temp issue may be due to your burner's gas jets being clogged with ash, etc. Remove the burner and inspect, the holes or jets should be nice and clear, any clogged ones need to be opened use a safety pin or something similar to open, try no to make the hole any bigger then it is. You may also find it may light quicker since there will be less back pressure in the line once the jets are cleaned.

3. Press number pads 1, 2 and 3 in that order.
4. Press BROIL, then START.

My Maytag Electric Range oven part will not heat over 200* ......

Unplug the range.
Open the oven door.
Remove the racks.
Remove the 2 screws holding the bake element to the rear wall of the range.
Carefully pull the element from the access holes in the rear wall.
Remove the wires from the element.
With your meter set for continuity, put one lead on each element end.
If you get a reading it is good.

If it is good. Replace the wires and reinstall the element.

Pull the range out from the wall.
Remove the rear panels.
Plug the range back in.
Set your meter for 220volts or more.
Careful now because you are working with live voltage.
Set the oven for bake.
Put a lead on each element terminal to check voltage.
If you have 220 volts at the element, unplug the range and unplug the temperature sensor.
Set your meter for ohms.
Check the 2 leads on the temp sensor.
If at room temp the sensor is 1050 - 1100 it is OK. If not replace it.
If the temp sensor checks out OK, replace the ERC
