I have a Kodak Z7590, the power ring flashes amber when I power it on. Thinking that the battery is dead, (and it was recharged) I bought a new battery, charged it, and it does the same thing. What can I do, or is the camera dead? As a precaution I cleaned the battery/camera contacts with a dry swab.

Thank you for your response. However, the camera doesn't power on as I stated earlier. When I go to power the camera up, the power circle flashes amber and does not turn on at all.

I have no solution because I have the same problem. I wonder if it is internal - and something that burns out after 4-5 years, which is how long I've had mine. Did you ever find a solution?

Here is the link for this camera at Kodak: Kodak Z7590
you may try to set all menu settings to default. Flash problems can sometimes result in not correct settings of settings for other modes. There may be a setting to set all or reset all to factory settings or default, or something like that.
If that does not fix this, then there may be some problem in the internal workings of the camera, and it will need repair.
If you can take pictures and you are able to view them as well, ane the problem still is there, then some problem may exist internally with some components.

How do I obtain repair of my easyshare camera?

You will have to ring Kodak and get the contact for the certified repairer. Most camera manufacturers won't let anyone else touch them.

Power light is blinking green and amber

my power light flashes green/ amber as soon as it is plugged in, with a dead battery. It seems to go to steady amber if the plug is tapped, but goes back to flashing. It will not hold a charge on a new battery.

Kodak Easy Share Printer dock plus. Original

Hi,

you're not completely right. Kodak printer docks normally only charge the Kodak KAA2HR battery pack. It not charges normal Ni-MH rechargeable batteries of any brands.

Low battery light comes on with fresh, brand new batteries. After several uses it seems to drain the battery and when I turn it on the red ring blinks and it turns off as if there is no charge.

Here are the steps:
1. Make sure you will install a new or fully charged battery/batteries into your camera. Please use lithium batteries Ni-Mh or rechargeable Batteries (2000 M.Amp or higher).
2. Clean the battery contacts.
a. Remove the battery/batteries and the memory card from your camera, then wipe the battery contacts with a soft, clean cloth.
b. Reinstall the battery/batteries into your camera
3. Turn on your camera without the memory card.

There is no firmware available for this model online.

I PURCHASED A KODAK DIGITAL z1085lS I took 6 shots in 24 hrs and battery was dead. The batterys are to expensive to be replacing so often,so I purchased good quality rechargable batteries but after 4 or...

This is not normal. Good batteries should give you over 100 pics before things start to slow down. If you bought the camera new you need to contact the warranty/repair folks at www.kodak.com and have them either repair or replace the camera. If you bought it used (no warranty) you can contact Kodak or take the camera to a local repair shop.

Kodak Easy Share z712 IS not detecting charged battery

I have the exact same camera almost a year too. It is a total "swinka" on batteries. About 10-15 shots on super ni-cads, and quits without warning.

A pair of Energizer 7X gave me near 500 shots. Much cheaper but still ...

So 4 months ago I bought a charger and 2 rechargeables. Charge one while using the other one.
I may get 70-90 shots per charge on these lithium-ion rechargeable batteries, without flash.

Testing the batteries without a load doesn't really tell you anything.
What's the reading? Should be well over 4 volts when fully charged. Mine show 4.2V

Photo colors are not true on my new Kodak....something wrong?

The Kodak CX4310 is the same as the CX4300 but the 4310 is a Wal-Mart special color. The camera feature that controls color balance is called "white balance" and on the 4310, it is totally automatic. Which means you have no control. If your color is not correct, return the camera. There are not many cameras that use a dock to recharge the camera batteries and connect to the computer. So you will not have many choices if you are looking for a different camera. One camera (without a dock) you should look at, is the Olympus Stylus 300. It is a better choice than the Kodak. It uses rechargeable batteries and the charger is included.
