I have oki microline 320 elite and printer head jams

If the missing spot is always the same it sounds like a broken pin in the print head. If this is the case you need to replace the print head.

this sounds like a print head issue. a replacement printhead is the way to go.

need to go into printer config and configure the characters per line.

Check printhead possible missing pin or pin not firing. Replace as necessary.

Your printer has a damaged mainboard. Very sorry, for yours is a very good unit. the replacement model is the Oki ML-420, which comes with a 3-year warranty.

Use the IBM proprinter driver for this printer and select IBM in the menu of the printer.

First, reinstall the driver and be sure it's the correct driver for this printer. If you drive a word document does it do the same? If not, chanses are the db application is constantly sending form feeds to the printer and the printer will do whatever it's told to do. Try a different printer setup in the db application.

If it is not the ribbon, you may have to replace the print head.

Did you check your print queue? May be there is an error in there waiting for you to instruct it.

Press the SEL or ONLINE key, then turn the printer off. Clear the print queue in the PC and then turn the printer on again.
