Push the button with the clock and calendar, this is directly over the 'cost' button, to display the date or time. Then use the 'Time set' button (this is the one for Memory - Plus - Equal). Hold the 'Time set' button down until the first figure blinks then release it. Use the number buttons to change the setting. When you have gotten the correct date or time entered oress the 'Time Set' button again.
Although it is only printed with 'Time Set' the button works for the date just as well.
Hi, To change / reset date and time touch on lcd screen, HOME > SETTINGS > CLOCK / LANG > CLOCK SET and set the date and time. Above said is mentioned in user manual of DCR-SR42 and you can download it from Sony Support.
Duh... I figured out that my PC had the date set a month ahead! Not sure how that happened. The Axim was dutifully synching up w/ the wrong date, and so the November appointments didn't register. Thanks for checking.
The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every picture in its EXIF metadata. Any photo viewing/editing program should be able to display this data. To print this data, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your pictures. Depending on the program and printer you may print the date on the image, in the margins, or on the back.
The instructions says there is a rechargable battery in the camera that maintains the date. It suggests that if the battery is exhausted the date and time will be reset (no definition of reset). It further says to connect the AC adapter/charger at least once every three months for 24 hours. You might try not using the adapter for three months and seeing if reset means no date/time at all or just 00/00/00. Steve
