This problem occurs because of DHCP issue in router.
Your computer not get proper ip for connect network.
For that first reset router to defaults.
Press RESET button for 10 seconds it is in back side of router.
Then connect router to computer with ethernet cable.
Then you can access it with following link.
http://192.168.1.1
or
http://192.168.0.1
type user as "admin" and password as "admin" or blank or "password"
then you can see configuration of your router.
Set WAN settings as your internet service provider settings.
Enable DHCP in advanced.
click on wireless or wi fi menu and enable wi fi .
Enable WEP or WAP security if you want to secure then add key it is your password to connect internet.
Then save and restart router then check.
Let me know if you need more assistance.

Can I use the dwl-g700ap as a repeater?

Hello,
Yes, the DWL-G700AP can be setup as an AP or a repeater as long as your current wifi router is also 802.11g/b.
You can find instructions here: http://www.docstoc.com/docs/2583739/How-do-I-configure-repeater-mode-on-DWL-G700AP

Connect D-Link DWL-G700AP to dreambox decoder

you can connect to your box via FTP via a crossover cable. If you can’t, you might want to read up on that before attempting this.
Now, what we’ll need is…
Ethernet cable (crossover or patch)
Router
Modem
We’ll also assume that you have a router (wireless or not) and that your modem is connected to the ‘Internet’ or ‘WAN’ port.
If you have a free port on your wireless router, you can connect your dreambox to this. Use the ethernet cable (crossover or patch, most modern routers will accept either) connect one end to your dreambox and one end to a free port on your router. You don’t need to change any settings on your router or PC.
Over to the dreambox. Navigate to the networking page on your dreambox.
Setup -> Expert Setup -> Communication Setup

Hi, I'm an idiot! PLEASE HELP

you may be suffering from mixed Cat 5 and Cat 6 cabling.
The wiring is slightly different and they don't work well when mixed in routers and modems etc. One or the other will work , but when they're mixed it'll do what you have going on here...

I would recommend wiring everything with cat 6 ethernet cabling. Look on your cable and you will find the labeling on the outer casing.

Unable to secure wireless network.

log onto the wifi router. set your ssid to whatever you want it to be and security to whatever p/w you want it to be. this will usually require a reboot. this will need to be done on the primary pc

if you only have one. connect it all physically as it should be. then do the above. disconnect the compuer from the ethernet cable and it should be a wa-la. hope this helps :)

But the DWL-G700AP...

Is this access piont connected to a router? Can you get online through the router? If you can go online through the router also check the status of your wireless connection. Make sure its connected and it's getting a valid ip address.

DHCP option is disabled when LAN IP is Dynamic on DWL-G700AP

that is right the access point does not have a dhcp server. that will give an ip address to all of your computers or device connected to it wireless. If you have a modem with a dhcp server there will be no problem with the IP but if the modem does not you must have a router and now an access point.

D-Link DWL-G700AP Access Point

You need to connect the access apoint directly to a pc with a CAT5 cable then set up a static ip on the pc which I assume you know how to do it, for the static ip put 192.168.0.5 subnet is 255.255.255.0 and gateway is 192.168.0.1 then save the settings, then check first if there's a good connection between the access point and pc, go to the command prompt then type PING 192.168.0.50 if you receive 4 replies go now open the http://192.168.0.50 if you receive 4 request time out reset the access point and and ping it again if still 4 request time out after you reset it replace that access point.

Bill,

I have here the steps on how to reset your device.

To perform a reset, please follow steps below:

Step 1 With the unit on, place a paper clip into the hole on the back on the unit labeled Reset.

Step 2 Hold paper clip down for 10 seconds and release.

Note: Do not repower unit during this procedure.

Step 3 The unit will reboot on its own. Once the WLAN light stops blinking, the unit is reset.

D-Link DWL-G510 Connected but no packets

Hi,
According to the user guide for your motorola broadband modem it doesnot support wirless capability , ie it can only hook your computers to the interenet using the wire. refer the following link

http://broadband.motorola.com/consumers/products/SB5101/downloads/SB5101_UG_EN.pdf

What is required , is additional pair of hardware ie.
1. Wireless Router(eg linksys or netgear)
or
2.Router/broadband modem(given by the ISP)

Your connection would then be configured through the wireless router , that would give you wireless capability.

Refer to the following link , it gives you the a step by step guide to setting up the wireless connection .
http://www.oreillynet.com/pub/a/wireless/2003/03/21/home_wifi.html

Best of luck .....

Thanks
mandeep
