I have a picture of a battery with a line through it on my Blackberry 8800, what does that mean?

Turn the phone off. Take the battery out and wait about 30 seconds. Put the battery back in and turn the phone back on.

Battery is either not a official Blackberry Certified Battery or it is DOA

You need to find out if the problem is with your current AV charger - the battery or the phone.

Clean the battery and the metal connection with a dry cloth, and try to charge using a USB charger.

If the battery is fully charged, it should turn on by pressing the button with the red phone reciever on it. Its to the right of the trackball next to the bent arrow button.
