Two black lines across middle of screen.

I have two black lines running across the center of the television when it is on.  I hand delivered it to Olevia in SoCal.  After weeks of calling them, they finally told me it was the main board in the television, and it would cost $350 parts and labor to fix.  (I really think they just threw a price at me without looking at it).  I want to know if something like this would be cheaper if I brought it to a repair center instead of the Manufacturer.  They run for around $900 now so I'm wondering if it is even worth it.

I have a 45" Sharp Aquos that has a vertical dark line that looks like a crack or a black jagged lightning bolt. It is faint and only appears intermitently when their is darker contrast. The set is only 17 months old.

The flat screen is made of a matrix of elements connected to cables along the side and top. On your unit, some of these many, tiny connections are making contact intermittantly thus losing the elements in that area. These contacts are held in place with just pressure and if that is disturbed, you lose that line of elements. Try squeezing the cabinet of the TV on the outside at the top in the area of the loss and see if that makes a difference. May have to go inside and see if the contact assembly is disturbed or warped or something.
Hope ya fix it!

I turned my television on then it made the tv frame made a noise!and now the screen is black except for this thin line across the middle of the screen which is display the picture

Most likely the vertical oscillator circuit has failed. As CRT televisions have gone the way of the dinosaur, my advice to you is to give a fond adieu and invest in a new TV.

No picture.Just a single line in middle of screen.

No, your picture tube is fine. This is a problem in the vertical circuit that deflects the beam up and down. This repair is fairly typical across most television brands and should not cost too much to fix. I don't want to quote another shops pricing but from us this would run about $150.00 to fix.

Line across middle of screen, rest of screen black

The problelm is a defective vertical deflection system. Could be the amplifier, vertical output driver or whole printed board that supports the vertical deflection activity. It is considered to be a serious failure.
The cost of repair will be around $200 to $300.
