Mac computer doesn't hear voice when using rosetta stone

Any attempt to "crack" it would be illegal.

Purchase a license from the manufacturer of the software.

You will find the activation code inside the box on a small card, If you don't find it contact Rosetta Stone with your Order number to get new one.

Go to System Preferences (click on the apple in upper left corner of monitor and pull down)
Look for "hardware" and click on "sound". Is your mike on? Make sure your "output" level is high.

Just got off the phone with rosetta stone support for this exact problem. This is caused by a failure during the language update (I'm going to assume just before this happened it was prompting you to update the language files to the latest version, that was my scenario).

In any event, the fix is simple - Browse through your file system to C:\ProgramData\Rosetta Stone\ (you may have to set to show hidden files to see this path). Open the Products.Xml file and scroll to the very end. There is going to be a "<Product>" node (note, not <ProductS>) as the last subnode of <Products> and this node will have a Course Id of "null". If so, delete the entire <Product> node down to </Product>. Save, close the file, and restart Rosetta Stone -- voila.

Sounds like you saved your progress file in a non Rosetta Stone folder and now it can't associate the progress with any language packs.

you may need to buy/download them off the internet, programs often want to keep you buying things for long periods of time. if you want to learn another language, i suggest www.livemocha.com it's free to learn another language. You are put in contact with someone who knows the language fluently or has it as their native language.
