The touch screen is a little bit off, when I touch a certain part with the stylus, it doesn't show up at all, or respond. I've tried calibrating it, but I still get the same problem in a certain spot on the screen.

Hi to all......any solution for the touch-problem?

  • Concorde65 Oct 24, 2008

I am having a problem with my calibration screen. I tryed cleaning around the edges, I tryed taking out the battery for 4 hours! The problem is that when I go to callibration thing I touch the dots then it goes in some sort of loop. I press them exactly on spot about 40 times and still it never ends. If however I tap about 1 inch away from the dots it says Calibration complete! But it hasnt calibrated properly I am still left with the same problem. Ive tryed this 100 times!!! This problem never fixes and I really dont want to send it for repair so someone please please please tell me a solution!!!!!!!

    Thank You!

  • Anonymous Dec 22, 2008

I think i know what the problem is.
I have the exact same thing happening to me also but you must have calibrated the touch screen totally of hand and now it can not be change back unless you get it repaired.

my screen refuses to calibrate, Anyway I am not going to buy a new Nintendo DS because now I think that they ****. Instead I am going to buy a PlayStation 3 because they are much better because they have a hard drive.

I had the same problem and have now fixed it succesfully the touch screen works like a grid and is overlayed onto an lcd screen so that when you touch the screen it makes a conection within the grid so that the machine knows where you are touching .....if one of these grids are broken you will never calibrate your screen as the ds doesnt recognise what you are touching short the answer is to replace your touch screen

I got my DS touch screen all wet and now it doesn't respond to being touched. What do I do so that it responds to being touched now.

Electronics like a Nintendo DS get messed up if you get them all wet (e.g. drop it in a tub full of water). My guess is after you got your DS all wet, your touch screen stopped working.

My only solutions to this problem is:

or call 1-800-255-3700 for Nintendo DS assistance.

Touch screen wont respond

double check that both cable/ribbons are connected properly to the motherboard, the small thin ribbon which curls over the top of the motherboard is the one which powers and reads the touch screen so double check this!!
if this is all in fine then im sorry to say your touch screen is broken and will need replacing!
