Does it boot to the windows screen. By pressing f12 or f2 whatever your machine requires while booting will take you into the bios. Inside the bios you can run all sorts of tests to see what the problem is.

Free recovery disks for hp pavillion zd8000 with windows 7

As far as I know, the original zd8000 operating system is Windows XP. If you have Windows 7 installed, then you need to get Windows 7 disc and its product key. If you need the Windows XP reinstallation media, then you can use HP Windows XP reinstallation disc only (for example: HP Windows XP Professional with SP2 disc).

Need to reload windows xp on to my laptop for a hp pavilion zd8000

Just open the system restore partition, (F11) and select restore. If the partition is missing or corrupt an OS disc will be required and placing it in the DVD drive boot from the disc choosing replace system when peompted.
Hope that helps.

My cd/dvd will not work the light comes on and the disk spins round

-does it happen to one kind of disc?
-if there are no disc available try if that disc will work other devices, like your dvd player or sumthin
-try checking device manager if there is any errors for the driver
-if there is no errors, uninstall the driver, then restart. It will automatically re-install the driver
-if it did not reinstall the driver, go to start

Start up problem with HP laptop.

Try to read this link:

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/fastFaqLiteDocument?lc=en&cc=us&dlc=en&product=18703&docname=c00608578

Try the "Recovering from the recovery disks" section but it only works if you have a special partition that cannot be re-format/re-partitioned inside called "EISA partition". all your data will be gone though.

Zd8000 wont boot up

try to get into SAFE mode... tap F8 repeatedly when you first power on. You should get a safe mode boot menu, select last known good profile and press enter.

If this does not work reboot go into SAFE mode and select Safe Mode from menu and see if it will boot up.

You may get a pop up to use system restore, say yes, select restore to an earlier date (or similar) then use the calander to select a restore date that is PRIOR to the problem starting.

If this does not work boot to safe mode again and say NO (cancel) to use system restore and see if you can get to the desktop
