Instead of aux (Blue Connector of PC Sound), try using head phone jack (Green Connector of PC Sound). It if is working fine, uninstall sound driver of your PC, restart PC and install sound driver again. Your problem will be fixed.
Sounds like the input board on the tv fried. (45-65$ fix if that's it)
Try the same two devices on different inputs , ie change from hdmi to component , or just use hdmi 2 instead of one, you get the idea.
Make sure the devices dont work on other inputs on the tv.
Then take a different device , like a 3rd dvd player and try it.
If nothing works in that input but works in other inputs the tv input board might (likely) need replacing.
If the third fresh device does work in that input , it is both dvd players or the cable you are using. (try to use a different cable in the tests than the one you have already used. )
Okay so this could be several things from something as simple as a cable has came loose to something a bit more serious like the dvd player overheating. Does the Tv's sound work? have you tried using another scart cable? and have you made sure all the cables are plugged in properly? If you can try and connect it to another scart port in the back of the tv. Once youve rulled out the TV and the Cabling it must be the DVD player. If you can try the DVD player in another TV aswell just to find out if you can get sound, If theres still no sound then im affraid your dvd player needs repaired.
power off all items... do you have cable/satellite (this cable wire needs to be connected from box to the in on VCR) from the out on VCR connect back to TV...okay DVD you should have 3 cable wires (red/white and yellow) this is to be plugged into AV1 (on the back or side of TV) follow the colors... red to red and so on...note you should tune your Flat panel CH 3 along with the VCR (set it CH 3)... okay turn on all, get a tape, pop it in VCR press play... do we have a picture and sound? okay press stop.. get a DVD disk place it into DVD player press play.. using your TV remote we need to change the source from component/cable to AV1 in order to view a DVD. and change it back once finish so you can view regular TV. okay do we have picture and sound?
Check the cable connections and/or replace the cables to the AV2 input.
If replacing the cable doesn't provide a solution, try running your DVD through the input. Since it works fine now, you would be checking the input AV2 by putting your working DVD. If the DVD plays with no problems, the input is fine.
Also try the VCR using coax into the TV instead of RCA into AV2. This will give you some idea about the condition of the VCR.
You need a audio cable for sound. HDMI cable is only for picture. I use the comp 1 plugs myself, better picture. I found with my TV that the HDMI cable is only good if you have a digital box for it. You can also use the plug to hook your computer to off your graphics card and watch downloaded movies on.
