To change the display from portrait to lanscape
Press Ctrl-Alt plus a left or right arrow key.
ALSO
Upside down display is caused by unintentional pressing Ctrl-Alt plus the down arrow key.
Restore by pressing Ctrl-Alt plus the up arrow key.

Depending on operating system and graphic card it differs, but if you don't have a tray icon, go to Display Settings > Advanced in Control Panel for Windows. Since I am on Linux, sorry if it is called slightly different.

Let's go back in the diagnosis

You checked with an external monitor, to see that the graphics chipset was the problem, correct?

When using the Display Assembly from the 6530b on the 6730b, were you able to use the 6530b's Video Cable, to check it out also?

I have a hp 6530b laptop. I bought a replacement battery and a replacement wall charger. It still shows that it is plugged in, a battery is present but only at 6%. It never changes and i left it plugged in...

It might be the XLR connection. Try moving it around. if you see the icon display charging which you may notice it has to be a certain position to charge, you may have to solder the XLR connector to have a stable charge connect.

Have you tried changing the orientation from potrait to landscape or vice versa in the Display Properties Window(Right-click Desktop-Select Display Properties)? Should be in there somewhere.

My HP 6530 laptop (two weeks old) has suddenly gone to an inverted display and I can't seem t o get it right side up - do you know the Vista command to invert the display? Ctrl-Alt-Up/Down arrow does not...

--Press the Ctrl and Alt keys together then either the up or down or right or left arrow key to rotate the screen.
--if it's a GeForce Vid card, open your display settings (settings > advanced), click the Geforce XXXX tab, open 'additional properties', find NVrotate and click the button 'restore defaults' which is 'landscape (0 degree rotation)'.

Change Landscape to Potrait veiw

Hello, You need an application called HP MyDisplay, you can download this at the link below, this app will register in which way the monitor is (landscape or Portrait) and when you pivot (rotate) the screen it will rotate the screen as well.
