My rca tv reads function disabled when I push the menu button on the front of my tv. how can I enable it?

Usually there is a "video" button. It toggles between front & back RCA as well as any other options, like cable, etc. You may have pressed it on your tv or another remote, so be patient - you'll find the right setting again!

From the page 28 of the guide.
1) Push 'menu' button of front panel of tv.. This will bring up the menu on the tv screen..
2) Using the 'ch' buttons next to menu button, move up or down to highlight number 8 'setup'
3)press 'menu' button again then 'begin setup now' should appear and be highlighted.
4) Press 'menu again which will take you to 'language'
5) use the 'ch' buttons to move up or down to highlight 'English'
6) press 'menu' again to select english as the language.

That should be it.
If you get problems, read the user guide and follow it carefully.

Try this -

1. Press menu for main menu.
2. Press CH + or CH - to highlight preferences.
3. Press "OK" to enter preferences submenu.
4. Press CH + or CH - to high light "FPA"
5. Press VOL + or VOL - to turn the FPA on or off.
6. Press MENU repeatedly to exit.
7. Back to normal

• FPA stands for Front Panel Lock. It makes it so kids don't push all the buttons on the front of your TV. The power button on the TV will still work and the remote will still function as normal.

The front panel lock can only be unlocked with the remote. Press Menu, then Ch+ or Ch - to select Preferences. Press Ok then use the Ch+ or Ch- buttons to highlight FPA (front panel) lock. Then use the Vol+ and Vol - buttons to select On or Off. Then press Menu repeatedly to exit the menu system. With the FPA lock disabled, you can turn it on from the front panel of the TV by pressing the Menu button. However, with the lock enabled, you can only power off the TV from the front panel.

Since the Input button is also only on the remote, if you look for a universal remote, choose one with both Menu and Input or Source functions. Then try all the RCA codes until you find one that makes all of the remote functions work. The original remote is: RCR130TA1 . If you remember your pass word then you can use any remote that operates the TV to reset the menu selection. However if you don't remember the password, then sorry, the original remote must be used.
Below is the procedure to set up the menu for front panel lock, unlock and the password reset.

Front Panel

Selecting this option lets you lock (disable) or unlock (enable) the TV's front

panel buttons. The remote still tunes to any channel so remember to remove

access to any remote that can operate the television.

1. Choose Parental Control from the Main Menue and press the OK button.

2. Enter your passworcd.

3. Press the down arrow to highlight Front Panel.

4. Press the right or left arrow button to choose unlock (_) or lock (_).

I don't remember my password and I want to unlock the TV

If you forget your password, you must reset it. Make sure the TV is of. Press VOL- (down) on the TV's front panel and then

CLEAR on the remote for approxhnately 5 seconds. The TV turns on. Enter a new password next time you access
the PARENATAL CONTROL menu or the TIME_menu.

Actually Error 232 is mostly because of the Remote machine still we can try one thing in your machine ie - we can disable Error correction mode

How to disable it?


1. Press the or > button until the front display reads "Fax Setup".

2. Press the ENTER/MENU button.

3. Press the or > button until the front display reads "All Faxes".

4. Press the ENTER/MENU button.

5. Press the or > button until the front display reads "Error Correction".

6. Press the ENTER/MENU button.

7. Press the button until the font display reads "Off" and then press the ENTER/MENU button to save the setting. (Off disables ECM and On enables ECM).

Try to send fax now .. It should work
