Probably, you have cut the membrane that is there below the keypad and cant connect the power on switch. Remove the front cover and then the keypad and you will find the membrane there. Replace it.

Hi Robert, actually its LG and the batteries are the worst - i did the same thing with my brand new shine! You need to be careful when you start a new battery - make sure you drain it 100%, then charge for 6-8hrs, then drain 100% then recharge - after that you are good.
a new chocolate battery goes for $25-40

I found my phone was doing this same thing, and it turned out that it was randomly switching itself to bluetooth mode, so you can't hear anything if you aren't actually wearing your bluetooth.
Turning it on and off did work, as well as switching it out of bluetooth by unlocking it and hitting the switch button in the middle. Now if I could just figure out how to get it to stop switching to bluetooth on it's own, because it's done it 3 times now in my 10 minute conversation!!

i bought the LG KG00 and all you have to do is call T-Mobile, make SURE YOU ASK FOR SOMEONE IN TIER 2!!!
NO ONE ELSE WILL BE ABLE TO HELP YOU.
anyway, once you do that you let them know, and they will set up your picture messaging for you :)
