The Xbox 360 has got its first ring (one quter red)and it has in bold writing E 74 do you know what this means and how to solve this?

E 74 is three ring of light which means you need to contact the repair department of xbox to check the warranty of your console

The Error 74 means that your 360 is experiencing hardware failure. Only one red light should show up. You should send you 360 to Microsoft for a repair. If you are not under warranty you could fix it yourself, by doing the X clamp repair. But by opening your 360 it will void your warranty so be careful.

sounds like the red ring of death, contact xbox as they give u a 3 year warranty on this, they will pick it up and return it fixed.

one red light means the video card is dead not the cord and unfortunately cannot be fixed and to make it worse this error is not covered by warranty, if you want it under warranty tel microsoft wen you ring that it has 3 red flashing lights (RROD) not 1 as this error is covered by warranty

The E-74 error is also due to overheating and the RROD fix also cures this fault, hope that helps :)
