it sounds like one of your buffer boards are going bad. these are the boards that help put the picture on the screen. there are 2 boards an upper and a lower board. if you remove one and turn the tv on you will get half a screen. see then if you get the lines. please leave rating after you check.
Get the remote control and press the MENU key repeatedly until you see the Video menu at the bottom of the list of options you will see EZ Picture. Use the up/down arrow keys to select EZ Picture and use the left/right arrow keys to select your preference. Set the preference to Preset not custom. Press Enter, Quit or Menu to exit. See if resetting the TV's Picture settings resolves the problem.
If you have a bar at the top of the screen as well then it could be in letterbox viewing mode. Again just go into the Video menu and turn it off.
Hello! I have a 32" Vizio LCD...within 30 minutes of the tv being turned on, black lines start running through the bottom half of the screen and eventually blacking out the bottom half of the tv screen. It also doesn't have anything to do with the ratio as I have tried that. HELP!
