Your fridge will have a dual water inlet valve, one for water and one to supply water to the ice maker. it could be that the solenoid on the valve that supplies water to the ice maker is not working.

2014 Kenmore side by side refrig. Water comes out of the door fine. Will not make ice.Tried the reset button on the left by the bucket, took top of door apart to see if mechanism was froze up.

Hello Rhonda Cornett,

Okay... water at the wall is connected... good...
but now you have TWO solenoids at the ENTRY POINT...

It would have been nice to know if there is water in the tray...
or if it EVER WORKED... but whatever.

If you are NOT getting water in the ICE TRAY...
you need to check that wire is connected to ITS OWN SOLENOID... (ELSE: solenoid might be bad)...

You might be able to TEMPORARILY REVERSE the water valves
to see if the door service still works with the SUSPECT VALVE..

Still works ... Ice maker trouble...
Fails solenoid trouble (bad valve) replace!

Then restore EVERYTHING... (take pictures ahead of tampering).

That click (or thump) you hear whenever you fill your water glass.

Every ice-maker I've ever tampered with has an on/off switch..

Fill controls... and firmness settings of some sort...
Check'em all out before getting DRASTIC.

I have a Kenmore side by side, model # 106.57032601 that I bought 4 years ago. The ice maker suddenly quit working. The refigerator/freezer work fine otherwise and I continue to have water from the...

Is your ice tray filling with water? If not, then I would suspect the water inlet valve (http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/part-model/Kenmore-Parts/Refrigerator-Parts/Model-10657032601/0582/0165000/K0607002/00012?blt=06&prst=0&shdMod=10657032601 - Item 10)

If it does fill with water, but does not eject the ice cubes to start a new cycle, I would suspect the ice maker motor(Item 37). BUT if it is the motor, that part costs $91.22 and you can replace the entire ice maker (Item 100) for $157.95

Kenmore 56541 side by side icemaker nor making ice The in door water dispencer works Arm on tray is on no water getting to tray

1.Bad water valve located in the back bottom of refrigerator.
2. Frozen fill tube going into back of ice maker. (common problem)
3. Ice maker not cycling. Pour water into ice maker cavity until near filled.
Wait a few hours and see if it dumps.
4.In rare cases, the switch in the ice maker body fails. Ice maker will cycle but not tell water valve to refill.

Kenmore by Whirlpool sxs water in the door. Ice maker 106.565424

The water control valve for the ice maker side is your most likely reason. If filling ice maker with tap water and allowing to freeze. If it dumps then the water control should fill. if not the valve is not working. Sea Breeze

Water doesnt stop after ice tray is filled

there is a micro switch in the ice maker motor module that shuts power off to the ice-maker water valve when the ice maker is full but i rarely see them go bad this is the easy way to deal with it pull the unit out unplug both the valves and turn the water on a sec if its running in the ice maker with the valves are unplugged then replace the valves if its not replace the ice-maker motor module

Ice Maker

First, are you getting water at the door? If not, the filter is installed wrong or there is some packing on the filter you didn't remove.

No ice...different question

Are you able to see if you can push a Q-tip or something up the fill tube line to see if it's frozen up inside there. It happens on certain units. You may need to take the Ice Maker out (easy) to get to the fill tube.
