I have a toshiba big screen from my parents that powers up, but there is no picture. at first there was a picture that would stay on for awhile, then shorter and shorter, until nothing.
it is a 2004 model. is it worth repairing?

I have similar problem. Sometimes it will show only a blank screen. Just unplug the AC cord, wait a few seconds and plug the AC cord back in. This will reset the processor and the picture is back. It happens once a month. Not a big issue to call warranty service.
5 years old toshiba tv is not that old as per reputation of toshiba.
it is not a big problem.
it might be due to power supply some part must be defective.
it can be fixed easily.
But if you want latest feature& digital quality picture go for new one.
