In regards to the problem with your L Button there is to possible problems. The easy one to fix would be that you have hit the L button enough times that it smashed/broke the tab on the button so it does not push in the button on the circuit board.

If this is the case it is an easy fix because there is alot of people who have busted the case kits so all you have to buy it the button an replace it. You will need special tools to open the system. I had a friends I worked on and had to do this for.

The worst case is that the button on the circuit board itself broke. In that case you will need to replace the circuit board. Again not hard to find this in good condition has there is alot of systems on ebay where the user broke the screen.

Hope this helps

Nintendo DS won't power-up

It sounds like a faulty battery. As it is under 1 year old, it is still under warranty. Return it to the origional place of purcase, who will either fix or replace it.

My Ds games dont work, but Gba side does work

blow into the card slot, if that dosent work you should take it for a service or consider buying a new one as this problem only happens if the ds is old or extremely damaged. If you are using a 61 in 1 or something like that (101 in 1, TT, R4 or 1001 in 1) they usually have problems loading up because they are scrappy jobs (lazy people) and/or they are invalid. If it is single ds cards there are three things that could be causing the problem; the games could be dodgy, the ds could be dodgy or it is time for a new ds.

One thing, this has never happened in my ds in its 3-4 yrs so im using what i did with my mate's ds.
(by the way, it worked)

Ds lite dropped while open, touchscreen now white.

With white screens it usually the LCD that went out, since D.S. do not have a reset button, the only way to reset it to Factory settings would be to remove that battery, and you would need to remove the little screws on the back. I would leave that last. However if you guys have had this DS for less than a year i would contact Nintendo, or go to the website
because you would still be under the one year Manufactures warranty. I would highly recommend to not state it was dropped. Just that the screen went blank all of a sudden. Touch screen works fine. Make sure there is no physical damage though, as that usually voids warranty. I had to do that for my Wii. No cost to me since under one year. If its been longer then the year then you could do the hard reset by removing the batter for a few mins.
Good Luck!

DS LITE

Hi,

The described problem you have happens normally if you dropped the DS Lite. So thats why Nintendo states that it must have been dropped. It would be difficult to proof that it not has been dropped.

My Trigger Buttons don't work!!

This has happened to me as well. I wasn't able to find a fix, but as you've only had your DS for half a year, it's still under warranty (12 month standard on all Nintendo consoles,) so I would recommend sending it in for repairs. You can set up a repair order here: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/repair/dslite_system.jsp?region=USA&is=s3O

It shouldn't take too long, when I sent mine in on a tuesday afternoon, it was back by friday.

Hope this helps.

Leave it somewhere warm and dry. That's all you can really do. There's a good chance it's a goner.

Broken L button...

If you are confident in taking it apart, just compare the L button to the R button, you should see what the problem is. And since you already have it open it will make it easy to replace what needs to be replaced, which is probably just the L button itself.
