We bought two Ionic Breeze's abt ten yrs ago and have always worked fine but now they "buzz" as they run. Not a steady buzz but every ten seconds or so. They are cleaned wkly and never had a problem bfor. Help.

My Ionic Breeze would work for a short time after cleaning and the blue light would start flashing and the unit would stop working. I checked the wall cube power adapter with a volt meter. It was putting out only 10 volts instead of the needed 12 volts. It seems The Ionic Breeze needs a full 12-13 volts to work. So I went to Radio Shack and bought a universal 12 volt 800ma power adapter. I checked the voltage in the new adapter, it was 13 volts. This fixed the flashing blue light problem. However the Ionic Breeze produces harmful Ozone gas, so I don't use it anymore.

This unit can be replaced on ebay for around $45.00 which is under any labor cost to repair the unit you currently have. You can always post your unit for sale on ebay for parts.

I haven't heard of a class action suit.  I've heard they recalled them.  I don't know if it's good any since they are chapter 11 right now.
They went out of business defending Ionic Breeze and lost due to Consumer Reports stating it wasn't effective as well as EPA data indicating that ionizers are harmful to use.
By the end of the year, The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to make a decision on all ionizers sold in the US.  It's possible no one will be selling them much longer.  The industry should have been regulated years ago and it wasn't.  The EPA knew they were harmful and didn't step in to take them off the market.

My professional series Ionic breeze GP blows out what seems to be clean air but the purple lights inside it are no longer working. Can anyone tell me where I can find replacement bulbs or just what I need to do to get it working again. I got it as a gift 4 or so years ago. The gift giver says there was a 5 year warranty on it but I am not sure. Any advice would be helpful.

They sued Consumer Reports, lost the case, and had to pay all the legal bills.

The Consumer Products Safety Commission is going to making decision on all ionizers by the end of the year. It's quite possible that no one will be selling them anymore.

This product should have been regulated a long time ago. Orek and few others are going to be pulling the plug on them real soon.
