The flash light is not close instantly because you not set that one, This type of feature is available in all smart phone. Go to the phone setting and select the "Back light" and set the timing after lock the mobile. then it will be off as you set the timing.

You have the option to change it under display settings in ur main options menu. menu>system settings>display settings>front screen(?)>desplay timmer. This should do the trick. I have mine on 10 seconds and that works great. I hope this helps.

well, for te time being, you will have to use an external monitor

After downloading the User Manual we turned off the screen saver delay in Settings/Personalise, which turned off the external screen after a few seconds when we closed the phone.

don't worry everyone's env does that and nobodies screen has burnt out yet and if it does which is highly unlikely verizon or LG will have to fix it.

from settings find the option of screen display, find the choice for screen back light, and change the time to 3 seconds or 5. It is in there just browse thru your setting for screen dislay.

push ok on wallpaper can you see it now

Does anything show on the external display if you go to take a picture, but before you acually take it, close the phone and look on the external display as if you were taking a self-portrait?
To make fully sure, while the phone is closed, press a volume button - does anything show on the display? If so, the external display functions and it would be a setting that may have been overlooked.
Go to Menu > Settings > Initial Setup > Display Timeout
or:
Menu > Settings > Personalise > Home Screen

I'm having the same trouble, and I've found it's because the v3 no longer recognizes the opening and closing of the phone itself. You see, when you close it, something is triggered that tells the phone to shut off the main screen and change the outer screen to the usual mode where it shows the time. You can also test this by trying to take a picture and closing the phone - the external lcd no longer doubles as a second camera display to easily take pictures of yourself. I dropped mine into the toilet, and I'm not sure if there's anything to do but take it to a tech. Sounds and looks like a hardware problem to me.
