This is a known issue with this model.. The power supply is not large enough to handle the extra current that is needed when the unit broadcasts on wifi.
you can ussually surf to the routers configuration page via its ip address
From a command prompt type IPCONFIG and the default gateways 'should" be the router's IP
No, not the way you want it to. The wan(internet) port on the 2701 is an rj-11 that will only connect to a phone line with DSL service. There is no way to use this as a router with your cable modem. You need a router that has an ethernet (rj45) port as the wan port.
Hi,
The 802.11b and 802.11g Wi-Fi networking standards are generally compatible. An 802.11b router / access point will work with 802.11g network adapters and vice versa.
There is no such conflict reported with the above devices. But as suggestion use an 802.11g wireless card with the Bell as it would give you better performance
Hi , the 2701HG-B by default uses the last 3digits of the SN number as the SSID and the 10 digit number in brackets as the WEP key to access the user interface of the 2701 type in the address bar of your browser 192.168.1.254 and push enter, to access the interface program you will need to run the system set up and you must know the keycode from your service provider and the username and password
The 2Wire 2700 is a residential gateway, a modem and router in-one. There is an RJ-11 jack in the back of the gateway and this is where your dsl phone cord plugs in. There are four RJ-45 jacks in the back for connecting devices using ethernet cable. As a router is can operate both wirelessly and wired. For wireless operation you'll need the WEP key which is located on the tag on the bottom of the gateway. It's the number enclosed in brackets, between the two bar codes.
