Turned off my hubby's PS3 today...now stays on gold screen

same problem just hapened today 5/11/2010 after trying system restore yellow light [down load] came on for few flashes and now nothing afraid to force a shutdown now in case it ***** it up even more any soloutions on how to fix this other than bouncing the machine off the wall

Same problem just happened to me. Playing a game and the game froze. Sat there in shock for about 10 to 15 seconds and the screen went black. Shut it off. Now every time I go to turn it back on again it starts up, I get the PS3 logo and then the blue wave starts. About 5 seconds after that the wave starts to lag and then nothing.... Stays on the lagging blue wave screen... THIS BLOWS!!!!!!!!!!!

Try turning off the unit from the back switch, unplugging it for a few minutes and see if that works.

maybe the cords are not correct. and when the system shuts down does it blink red?

i just turned on my ps3 today and there was a red screen that said " there was a serious error and i need to call technical support for assistance" in different languages. it wont let me do anything else it just stays in that screen. I cant even go to my menu. Please if anybody has any advice write back!!!!!!!!

u have a 60G ps3 i had the same problem it's a design fault phone sony and they will replace with new ps3 mine comes 2morrow

This sounds like an over heating issue. Do any fans come on when you first start up the system?

I have been playing today and just gone back on and not one game will load
