What sounds like is the fuse that governs the heating of the unit is either burned or not functioning. You can get a manual on how to fix that directly from feiyue yamata's site here. http://www.feiyueusa.com/Manual/FP202ELFuseChange.pdf
The problem is that if you have a psp990, it is not their item, it is a rebranded yamata so they dont have specific instructions for it. After you changed that fuse, i am almost positive you will be able to use your press again.

I also have a Yamata PSP-990A with the following symptoms. Will not heat. Red power lamp illuminated-Yellow lamp illuminates when steam buttons are pressed-Green lamp off.

I dissembled the device and drew an electrical diagram and electronic schematic (circuit board).

The problem was a defective 12V zener diode (D3) which supplies voltage to the 555 chip (IC1). The output of this chip (pin 3) is connected to the base of an NPN Si transistor (BG1) to energize the 24V relay supplying power to the heating elements.

Since D3 is in series with zener diode D4, I replaced both parts. The diodes are 1N4742A and can be purchased from Radio Shack in a package at little expense.

The device is now fully functional. Hope this helps.

You will need to open up an access plate to gain entry to where the wiring is. the indicator lamps are wired to the same terminals that the element connections are. check for a burnt off connector or a burnt wire at a connector where it goes into the connector. these are normally push on spade connectors that are crimped to the wire. if one of yours are burned off, obtain another terminal and get a crimp on tool and do the repair.

My yamata fp202L

Most likely it is the fuse that regulates the heating element on your press that has burned out.
All you have to do is open the top, remove the heating plate. The fuse will be on the left, button shaped.
Replace the fuse and put everything back together and the unit should work.
You can buy a fuse from the company you bought your press at or contact the manufacturer.

If it is not teflon coated sand it of with 400 grit sand paper. sand from front to back and it will create a nice grain and
this paper is so fine it will not scratch the surface. Sand it gently until the substance is completely gone. Do not do
this if it is teflon coated. Hope this helps you.

Conair steam cleaner sc20 - plugged in, pushed button, no steam

If you need instructions go to www.HandBookLive.com. There are videos for GS4 and GS10 under Appliances category. It says that steam is produced in about 5-6 minutes after you turn power on. Also there is a low water indicator light on GS10 that kills power to teh unit if the water level is low. Maybe that's the problem... Not sure if sc20 is similar
