Try going into the Control Panel, select printers, select that printer, right click it and click remove. If you can remove it from there first, it may stop trying to communicate with it, allowing you to continue in Add/Remove Programs.

I have a lexmark x63 and everytime i try to print something it says the device is busy try again later. i click on the printing icon that pops up in the bottom right hand corner of my screen and there is...

hi Cavschick104.
this is all i could find out.
COMPLETELY uninstall the printer and
reinstall it..... It may have occurred if you have your printer connected
during the installation of XP.... it is normal practice to keep the printer
disconnected during an upgrade or clean install.... and then correctly
install it afterwards.
This from the Lexmark site:

Remove the USB cord and the power cord from the back of the printer, and then remove
the USB cord from the back of the computer.
Uninstall the printer/scanner software from the Program menu and restart the system.
Check the part number on the setup CD. If it is not P/N 13H0350, you need to download
the XP driver from the Lexmark web site, www.lexmark.com.
When the PC has restarted, log in as an administrator and insert the setup CD into
the CD-ROM drive
Click OK and Install now.
Follow the setup instructions to install the scanner software. When you see Connect
the USB Cable to the printer on the screen, first attach the power cord to the
printer, then attach the USB cord to the printer, and finally attach the USB cord to
the computer.
Follow the setup instructions on the screen to complete the printer software
installation.

Uninstall a printer

Greetings,
I beleive when you say that you tried to reinstall it you tried it by going to Control Panel-Add remove programme. In case it is uninstalled from there goto C:\ drive - programme files and then delete the folder for Lexmark coz that might still initialize everytime comp restrts. This should take care of your concern.

Alternatively you can try msconfig.

Setup to lexmark x4650 wrong

Deleting it from the desktop, just deleted the shortcut key is all. It'll be alright. Just ease back, and let's fix this problem.

Click on Start>Hover your mouse cursor on All Programs. Look to the right for Lexmark. In the drop down menu under Lexmark, look for -> uninstall.
Click on it. This is the best way to uninstall a program. If it asks if you want to save any personal settings, -> No!

No uninstall option? Okay, click on Start>Control Panel>Add/Remove Programs.
When Add/Remove Programs has populated, scroll down through, and find the Lexmark software. Click on it. Now go to the right, and click on ->Remove.

There may be more than one, Lexmark software listed. If so, you have to Remove each one.
This is why, after you remove one part of the Lexmark software, (If there is more than one part),
AND you're asked if you want to restart your computer, the answer is NO.

You click on Restart Later.
This action will bring you back to Add/Remove Programs, where you can continue removing all Lexmark software listed.

Keep clicking on Restart Later, until all software is removed, and you are back at Add/Remove Programs. Then close Add/Remove Programs.
Close all windows until you are back to your desktop screen.

Unplug the USB cable from your Lexmark printer to your computer. Turn the Lexmark printer off, if it is on. Unplug the printer from power.

You are unplugging the printer to clear error codes, in case it stored any.

Shut your computer down normally. Turn it off.
Unplug it from power. Press the Power On button in, and hold it in. Hold it in for a count of Five seconds.
(And I mean Five at least. Count, 1001,..1002,..1003,..1004,..1005)
Let go of the Power On button. Do this same procedure Two more times.

What you are doing, is clearing any error codes in the computer. This may be a bit much, but I suggest you do it. This way there is no room for error.

Plug the computer back into power. WAIT 1 minute, then turn it on. When Windows has fully loaded up, install the Lexmark CD.
Follow the instructions. If it asks you to restart your computer, Okay.

After Windows has reloaded, click on Start. You should see a small pop-up stating you have a new program.

Now, plug the Lexmark printer into the computer with it's USB cable. Plug the printer into power.
WAIT 1 minute. The printer may have to reset itself. Now press the Power On button of the printer.
You should be good to go.

This happens to me about every 3 months.

What you need to do is remove the program drivers.

Go to control panel and select add/remove software and uninstall the all in one program.

Reboot.

Now go the Lexmark site and download the all in one drivers and reload.

It will take you through the install program and once completed you should be able to print.
