Toshiba Satellite p25-s5263 locked up during boot. Tried many things. Found that if I turned off the wireless switch on the side it would boot correctly. Booted, went into hardware manager, turned on the wireless switch, no light, no wireless hardware detected even when I told it to detect new hardware. Booted into linux just fine, with wireless light on and active. Any ideas?
Try to download and install newest windows drivers for the wireless and check BIOS for wireless settings. Apart from that... stick to Linux? ; )
Testimonial: "I ended up keeping the internal wireless disabled (nothing worked, including drivers, and the hardware seems to actually be OK, so I think Windoze puked on itself internally somehow.) Attaching a USB2 external wireless adapter solved the problem for me. Yep, I like the Linux idea too. <g>"
