I got a logitech quick cam communicate deluxe for xmas - it was installed and seemed to work - when used on skype the camera did not transmit picture - then uninstalled and reinstalled and it worked then it did not - then tried to un-install which took 3 hours and now when installing it does not install as disc driver does not recongnize disk so took it out - then computer said installing quick cam and all devices are ready for use however can not find program anywhere on computer and when no installation process actually happened... please help
Ok, take a breath... What has happened, is although you uninstalled the Logitech software, the folders still exist (as with any program uninstallation).
Unless you're comfortable with poking around your C drive, then download and run a program called "ccleaner" at www.ccleaner.com, which in a normal scenerio will remove redidual files left behind by an uninstall.
Once you have installed ccleaner, choose "tools" and use their uninstaller to remove the logitech software (if it shows on the program list).Even if it doesnt show, still run the "cleaner" function", as there will always be temp files lurking around that could mess up an installation.
Then, go to Logitech's site and get the latest software for your camera model.
Be sure to NOT plug the camera in until it tells you to do so!! THIS IS VERY IMPORTANT!!!
You may have to go into Skype's video configuration utility to setup the cam, but I think you can take it from there. Good luck!

So, from everything I can tell if I do not have Windows 2000 I am unable to download the driver to get my Logitech cam to work. I have windows and me. So do I need to buy another cam that would work on my laptop?
i have installed it then i uninstal it an it will not install again :(
