Yes it will if you know the frequencies and the broadcast times of the radio you want. During the night the best broadcast bands are the longer wavelengths.
49 m from 6390 kHz and up
41 m from 7600 kHz and up
31 m from 9200 kHz and up
25 m from 12121 kHz and up
During the day Use the shorter wavelengths 11m, 16m, 21/22 m
Unfold the whip antenna, or use the wire antenna if you have one.
Reception is affected by the electrical charge denisty of the ionosphere. It depends on the solar activity (sun spot flares and such activities).
You will hear Radio China international all over the spectrum, Deutch Welle, Radio Canada International, Radio Havana, and a plethora of Religious brodcasts. If like me you miss Radio Moscow, it is now called Goloss Rossya (The voice of Russia). Don't get upset, I was joking.
