Hello my xbox 360 plays games as dvd's it tells me to insert it into a xbox 360 or reads it as a dvd. it happens with all my games i dunno what the problem is

This is an uncommon problem with Xbox 360's, but I have heard of it before. I know of a few possible fixes:

1. Eject the game you're trying to play so your drive is empty.
2. Turn on your console.
3. Insert the disc and see what happens.

Xbox 360's do not have the greatest DVD drives on the planet, no doubt. Another thing you could do is to connect your Xbox 360 to the internet and be sure you have the latest firmware update. This might remedy the problem. As soon as your 360 is connected, it will automatically detect if an update is needed and it will tell you it wants to download it without you having to do anything.
If neither of these work, chances are you'll need to contact Microsoft at 1-800-4MY-XBOX for technical support. If you're lucky, you're still under warranty.

Try to insert a straighten paper pin into the hole under the tray if still no go You have to open the cover and take the cd out.

If your Xbox 360 will not play your games this is because of the sensors on the back of the drive overheating it is not normally the laser.

Luckily you can fix this yourself and get back to your games and to do this you need the proven Xbox 360 Repair guide.

Or you can send it in and they will fix it for you the repair will take about 4 weeks.

The DVD issue normally happens as you will find that it can still read DVD's!

You will need to stop the heat to read games.

I have had a similar problem. I insert a game and it sais to insert it into a xbox 360 console.

This usually happens after I have been playing a dvd in the console.

Restarting console with game in it has been fixing issue.

Exchage your X Box 360 for a new one.
