My Epson CX6600 is out of cyan ink and keeps giving an error message insisting I replace it. I do not have cyan ink and need to print a b&w document asap. How do I bypass the error to print in b&w?

This happened to me twice, You can possibly have no ink in your cyan, magenta and yellow , you would then have to replace them to work the set. I had to do that and it worked =]
This problem needs to be addressed by an Epson service center. It needs disassembled and probably needs parts replaced that the leaking ink damaged. Sorry.
Sorry to say but NO you can't print if there are other inks which ae empty, thats one safety features of epson printers to prevent nozzle clogging. change the other ink carts as well for you to continue printing.
If you are using a cartride that has been refilled it may just need recharged. I purchase my cartridges off Ebay and some will not charge, so I just use a small devise, which you can purchase off Ebay, that allows you to reset the cartridge. IF a cartridge does not charge it will not work.
If you choose the setting to scan to memory it should function without problem.
However, why not change the ink anyway. If the carts are empty and you leave it too long you will probably find that when you do change them you will loose ink output as the head/wicks will dry out.
