Screen goes black then flashes grey to black.

My screen goes black then flashes grey to black. power button flashes from green to yellow,(sleep mode?). If I move the power cord around problem corrects itself then goes back to problem at any given moment.
The display is sharp and colors are great. I suspect a bad power cord connection.

My lcd screen switch goes green and a message appears "going to sleep" and the switch light goes yellow

1. Verify the monitor's power cord is plugged firmly into the wall outlet and the back of the monitor.
2. Verify the monitor cable is firmly connected to the computer and the monitor.
3. Verify that you have turned the monitor power switch on.
4. If the power light on the monitor is not on, test the wall outlet (plug in a light or something you know works).
5. If the power light on the monitor is not on, try a different power cord.
6. If the power light is on and yellow or flashing, but nothing displays, borrow a monitor from a friend. If that works, your monitor needs replaced.

Dell monitor flashing green power button black screen.

Your computer is in sleep mode, a low power mode that conserves power by turning off the screen and hard drive.

Push the power button on the system and the computer will resume.

If you don't like this feature, you can turn off sleep mode in the power options in Control Panel

My dell dimension has gone to sleep mode by it self, and now it does not go on?? tried to take out the power cord and start but straight away it goes to sleep mode??

bhupesh626

When the system is going back into sleep mode what color is the power button flashing. It should like the system my not be going into sleep mode but have a more serious problem.

Also let me know what you see on the screen as you turn on the system.

Another thing to try is after you unplug the system hold down the power button for 30 to 45 seconds. This will reset the power state of the system. Note if you have the system plugged into a power strip you will want to reset the power strip too.

Monitor Goes black, or flickers on and off

The high pitch sound is coming from the inverter. It is faulty and needs to be repaired or replaced. The inverter supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp, this lamp gives the backlight to the LCD so you can see the LCD images.

Sharp light turns green thern turns yellow screen goes black

it is going into sleep mode, good luck with this.... i am currently asking how to get my hard drive to quite putting my monitor into sleep mode.

although it hasn't worked for me because my screen stays black, one of the options given to me is to try to start in safe mode and then adjust your settings to "never" on the energy/sleep/hibernate mode

some one else suggested that i remove and reseat the video card

hopefully one of those will work for you

Monitor suddenly goes black

Is this monitor and LCD flat Panel? If so this is due to a bad power supply, an inverter board going bad or LCD backlight bulb blown. When the backlight goes bad it gets just enough power to start up, but when it is on for a long period of time it goes black because the bulb is not stable enough to hold the charge because it is going bad. These bulbs can be changed, but they also can be costly!
