    Thank you for the suggestions.

I am presently running another virus check as you suggest, as I do frequently using MS liveOneCare.

Don't beleive I've lost data, as it's all there on the PC. I just can't get it on the PDA. My four buttons previously could access the calendar, addresses, calculator and todo list. Now they don't even seem to be anywhere on the PDA.

    other ideas?

Yes, I want shortcuts to those functions - calendar, addresses, calculator and todo list - to be on those four keys. I cannot find those programs on the PDA even though they are on my PC. How do I get them back on the PDA?

You want short cut for those items to be under that keys
or your not able to even detect where the date and time is there in your PDA?

Posted on Jan 05, 2008

  • Anonymous Jan 05, 2008

that mobile has the option called preferences.
that is the place where you can play around all short cuts. remember that is the place where you can customise your whole mobile
the same way now go to menu and then click the preferences icon.
and then from top right corner again you can move to the needed setting preferences. and so now its the place where you will have to choose the right TAB to select the create the short cuts.

if its not showing first set the date and time. then create the short cut. even after that you are not able to view means sorry.
that was my solution. mat be some other expert will help you better.
    good luck.

It could be a virus , did you run a virus scan... any way it seems as if there might be a problem with the pda programming, download your service manual for it and it will give you detailed instrustion on how to repair it..

What you can try is data recover softare
www.phazeddl.com
if you lost any data

but more than likely your problem is virus related

  • Anonymous Jan 05, 2008

I think the operating system on the pda might be messed up

what you should do is back up everything to your computer

and then reinstall the operating system.

to do this go to your manufactures web page

download your manual and service manual

    get your operating system

and just follow the instructions on the manual

i think that might be your only option for this problem right now

BTW AVG FREE is better than microsoft one care..

I am sorry it wasnt a virus it would have been easier to repair :( *sigh*)

I updated the Palm m130 to Z22. I lost all my addresses on the m130 whe installing the Z22. Is there anyway to retrieve the lost file?!

The solution to this problem is.. if the m130 still has all the data, then

you need to perform a custom hotsync to overwrite all files on the computer

  1. Click on the ‘Hotsync Manager’ icon and choose ‘Custom’.
  2. Highlight the ‘Datebook’ conduit and click ‘Change’.
  3. Select ‘Handheld overwrites desktop’ and click ‘OK’.
  4. Repeat these steps for the ‘Address’, ‘Todo’, ‘Memo’ and ‘System’ conduits.
  5. ‘Install’ and ‘Install Service Templates’ should be ‘Enabled’.
  6. Perform a ‘Hotsync’ operation by pressing the button on the Hotsync® Cradle, or Cable.

Now that the files are on your computer you need to sync them into the new palm

Same steps but this time Desktop Overwrites handheld

  1. Click on the ‘Hotsync Manager’ icon and choose ‘Custom’.
  2. Highlight the ‘Datebook’ conduit and click ‘Change’.
  3. Select ‘Desktop overwrites Handheld’ and click ‘OK’.

Treo 755p Getting Stuck During HotSync

If you have another computer you could try installing the software on that to see if the Treo will sync.
This would determine if it's a computer problem or if it's your Treo.

When you unchecked the datebook to sync after uninstall/reinstalling, was it able to sync then?

I have had other palms get hung up to a certain point during the sync, but uninstalled the program or disabled it from syncing like you tried and it usually works.

Goofy thing going on

Try resetting the digitizer on the Setup programs, it works for me, but needs resetting every so often. a lot easier (and cheaper) than buying a new screen for such an old machine.

Outlook calendar will not synch to handheld

Here are two resource pages which hopefully will help. The first is Palm support page with an update to download for users of Outlook 2003. The second is a discussion thread of Treo users troubleshooting the same problem. Even if the PDA is different, the issue (and error code) is practically the same, Rather than cut and paste what I think is relevant, read the thread and see if one of the solutions listed helps you.

Sync Outlook 2000

You can transfer your contact list, but not your calender. Here are the steps to take to successfully transfer your contact list from outlook 2000 to the iPhone:

1. In Outlook, export your contact list as a Comma Separated Values (Windows) file
2. In windows accessories, launch Address Book
3. Import into Windows Address Book the file you created in step one
4. Now back in iTunes, sync your iPhone contact list with Windows Address Book

You contacts should come over intact.

Sorry, but there is no solution that I know of to import Calendar events.

HotSync Problem on Treo 90 When I press the HotSync on the Trio 90 cable (I do not use a cradle) in place of the moving red and blue arrows moving, the Microsoft Unplug or Eject Hardware icon appears in the lower right portion of the task bar. I assume this means that contact has been made between the Treo 90 and the PC. This icon remains until I receive the following message on the Treo 90: “HotSync Problem” “The connection between your handheld computer and the desktop could not be established. Please check your setup and try again. This problem began after I updated to WinDesktop_401_ENG_V, Treo90Updater11, and PMStdUpdate3171. I downloaded USBRegClean.exe and used it. Then I reinstalled WinDesktop_401_ENG_V and the problem continued. I emailed my log to Chapura Support. Unfortunately, this was done after I had uninstalled and reinstalled everything and the log did not show here a Synchronization had been established because after the reinstall, I have been unable to Synchronize. I checked the PalmOne knowledge base and did the following: I checked to make sure the cable from the HotSync was is securely attached to the USB port in the back of the PC and that the cable was securely in the Treo 90. I click on the HotSync manager, (Double arrow icon on the bottom right corner of computer screen), click on setup and then local tab and first set it to PC overwrites Handheld, this did not work, I then reset it to Synchronize, this did not work, I then reset it to Handheld overwrites P.C. This did not work. I also changed the speed settings to 9600. This did not work. I did a soft reset of the Treo 90. The reset took place, but the problem persisted. I did a hard reset, then uninstalled and reinstalled everything. However, when I try a HotSync, I keep getting the Microsoft unplug or eject hardware icon. I uninstalled all UBS ports. The problem continued. Chapura Support suggested using PalmOne’s HotSyncCheck which I interpreted to be the “USBRegClean.exe” and used it again and then reinstalled WinDesktop_401_ENG_V successfully. However, when I reinstalled Treo90Updater11, and PMStdUpdate3171, when I attempted a HotSync it failed and I continued to get the Microsoft Unplug or Eject Hardware icon. Is there a fix? Is it possible that the problem is physically located in the Treo 90? If so, where can I take it to be checked and serviced if necessary? Thank you for your attention to this problem
