Lost software New computer will not recognize my MF5500 and asks for disc to install program. Don't have disc(s). What do it do?

Some times you have to install the software first before installing the software, not sure which OS you are using but make sure you have OS updates etc, is it connecting vai USB ? cold be the cable

Unless you know what you are dfoing, it will be more trouble than it is worth friend.
Your best bet is to purchase a new disc with Windows 7 64 bit and do a 'new install'. It will ask you to wipe the existing partitions and you can start anew using the full capacity of the Hard Drive.. Don't panic If you don't have a Product Key, you can download Win 7 installation discs all over the net; Win 7 WILL install and work fully, but will only give you 30 days to buy a Product key. before it locks you out.

The infamous Red Screen of Desk -- A.K.A. Insert a Format Disc screen.


This screen is NOT asking for a disc to FORMAT the PS2. What it IS asking for is a PS2 or Playstation format [or a better word -- PS2 or Playstation TYPE disc. A disk with Playstation 1 or Playstation 2 type software on it -- in other words, a ps1 or ps2 game]. It's basically asking for a CD or DVD with software that the playstation can play. This red screen occurs when you insert an XBOX game or a burned/copied PS2 or PS1 game. What the PS2 is stating is that is cannot play this format [or type of] disc. It's asking you to insert a format [or type of] disc that it can recognize and use.

The most common reason for this screen appearing, if your PS2 does NOT have a mod chip, is a dirty lens. Try cleaning your lens and this should go away. What happens is that the lens becomes dirty and does not recognize the disc you inserted as being a PS2 or PS1 format [or type of] disc. So it's asking you to insert one. If your PS2 does have a mod chip installed, it could be a problem with the chip or the disc you burned. I don't install or sell mod chips, so I can't help you with that one...

Please visit the Lexmark website to download and install the Lexmark X1270 Printer Driver on your computer. Select your operating system, download and execute the file. Follow the instructions on your computer screen.
For the Lexmark OCR scan software, it is only available on the Lexmark installation disc that came with your printer. If you lost the disc, please contact Lexmark Technical Support Center for assistance.

Your BIOS software will recognize your hard drive. once installed.

i wouldn't worry about any disc. j
ust install it and the if you need more help you can ask again.
Since after you install the hard-drive, you will have to reinstall every program including the operating system.

If you are asking if it is possible to somehow copy an installed software application of a computer so as to use it on another without the install CD - yes and no.

It may be possible to copy the directory that holds the software onto a disc and simply paste it onto another computer. However depending on the software there may be a whole host of things it installed all throughout your computer that are required for it to work, such as registry entries, drivers, other programs etc.

Only way to know is to try.

Many companies will also replace an install disk for a reduced price vs. new software.

Normal 0 Driver could be corrupt.
Disconnect the printer or at least be sure it is turned off. I'd do both and reinstall the CD software program that came with the printer. When the software program asks you to connect the printer to the USB port, do so and it should again work properly.

I couldn't find any software that could make your mp4 works, but if you have windows XP you don't need to have a Cd.
The computer by itself recognize it.
Also if you have the cable just plug it in the new computer and he will recognize it if it is windows XP. but if you have Windows Vista you will have to buy the Disc.
