An RGB port is for a component cable not a VGA cable. A VGA cable, similar to a component cable, only carries a video signal but is a 15 pin cable that nearly all monitors and HDTVs support. Most laptops have a VGA out port. You should be able to connect your laptop to almost any monitor (not sure about your Samsung) with a male to male VGA cable.
Tries unplug,replug the tv like an hour later,the tv,now will reset itself back to the factory setting,tv should work now.Not,than the power supply board is having problems,not giving wright voltages to the tv anymore.The power supply board,that the board,where the power a/c cord plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a refurbish power supply board for the replacement.
In all fairness, I cannot get the unit to run in 1366x768, though - get out of range. 1360x768 seems to work OK though. Only real problem with the VGA input is that regular text mode on a video card (more of an issue on Windows machines) does not work.
