My stereo system has been sitting for 4 years. I was selling it and went to play some cds and the changer acter as if there were no cds in it at all. It just kept skipping to the next then the next and so on.
Pioneer cd players have the common problem of losing their laser lens
due to the glue that holds it in place going brittle over time. try
shaking the player from side to side and upside down to see if you can
hear the lens rattling about. if you recover the lens, very carefully
slot it back in place and apply a tiny drop of glue (NOT SUPERGLUE) to
the outside edge of the lens taking care not to get any on the focus
area and leave to dry. all should be well after this. i find UHU GLUE
in the yellow tubes do a lasting fix but don't use SUPERGLUE as the
fumes will coat the lens.
hope this helps?

On these Pioneer Magazine Changers, the shiny side of the disc must be facing up in the magazine. If the CD is loaded with the printed label facing up, none of the loaded discs will play. The deck will load one disc after another, and will play none of them.
