The child account and parental approval has already been set up, we now want to change them and it will not allow us in to change the settings.

I have a child account for my xbox 360 live gold subscription.
When I signed up my live account i never put a password for the family settings. And I just put my parents email account that wasn't actually a windows live email, yet it still accepted it. So now I have no way of changing the password for my live account and taking off the family settings. Is there anything I can do? I have phoned in xbox support 5 times, not once have they helped me solve this problem. I really want these family settings off! Please HELP!!

Before you can change Family Settings, your child must sign up for a child account and you must complete the parental approval steps to set up your child's account. For details, see Intro to Family Settings.

The family settings for my XBox turned on on their own. i do not know the password because I've never used the family settings.I can't play Halo or watch the majority of movies available on...

First I would try a few simple passwords such as 1234, 1111, 0123, things like that. If you are unable to figure out the password then you should be able to return the system back to its default settings.

To do this just go to your dashboard, then go to the system tab. There should be an option to restore all settings, this should remove the family settings.

Also you can try to log into the account that has power over the family settings and change them that way.

hopefully this helped

My xbox360 wont let me play second sight, is there an update and if so how would i get it because im connected to xbox live but still i am unable to play the game

I need more info, is it only that game? can you play other games? what error message does it give you?
with out knowing more I'm going to say that it's your console settings go to my xbox, family settings, then either change your settings or turn off console safety all together.

I bought a used Xbox360 and the family timer is set on it. I want to reset this but unable to. There is a description on here that is a gentleman explaining how to solve the issue but its not working for...

When the Xbox 360 Family Settings are first setup, you are required to give it a four-button pass code in order to add or change settings.

There are two ways to edit or remove the Family Timer.

If you do have the pass code:
  1. Go to My Xbox and open System Settings.
  2. Select Family Settings, Console Controls.
  3. Enter your pass code.
  4. Select Family Timer.
  5. Select Disable.
  6. Select Done.
  7. Select Yes, save changes.
Now your timer should be disabled!

If you do not have the pass code:
  • Try contacting the previous owner.
  • Call Xbox Customer Support at 1-800-469-9269

Family settings greyed out on xbox live account

try going to to their website:

and you should be able to find it in there. If not there is a section on the 360 dashboard and when you creat your profile you select your settings for family settings. There is underground where there are no restrictions, but this is the only one i remember. Try editing the profile and finding it in there or try the website.

Hope this helps ^^ and please don't forget to rate. Thanks.

On my family settings on xbox live controls where it says online games it was on block so i changed it to allow but every time i exit that it always goes back to block. How do i keep it to allow?

You will need to disable parental controls completely. The account may be set as a child account and it will require and "adult" account to remove all the restrictions under Family Settings

Password on famliy setting for xbox live preowed console

From the XBox website:

Managing Xbox LIVE Activity
Xbox LIVE Controls come into play only when you take Xbox 360 online, and they're linked to a child's profile and gamertag. When an Xbox LIVE account is created, the service asks for the member’s age to determine whether to apply Family Settings to that account.
Parents are also required to create or use an existing Windows Live ID. The Windows Live ID is associated with the child’s Xbox LIVE account and protects the settings from being changed later by the child. To change a child’s settings, first select the child’s account name and connect to Xbox LIVE. Once signed in, enter your Windows Live ID password to unlock the settings.
To see these controls, go to My Xbox, open System Settings, then selectFamily Settings, Xbox LIVE Controls.
