This problem happens to plasma TVs usually due to the Z SUS part, Z SUS board and Z Drive Board, malfunctioning. The Z SUS is responsible in resetting the screen for the next picture to appear. If it malfunctions, the image of the previous picture freezes and appears as shadow. Usually, the last image on the screen when you turned the unit off appears when you turn it back on before the actual picture appears.
The usual fix for this is alignment. That is, adjusting the voltages that powers the boards to an appropriate value that is indicated on the back of the panel. You may need the service of a qualified technician to perform the alignment.
I hope you find this information helpful.

Focus circle clear but surrounding area appears hazy

This is often the result of little available light on the focus screen. The more ambient light (and more open the aperture is) the brighter and sharper the image is in the viewfinder. Less light effects the image in the view finder and makes it harder to see and focus.

If your lens only opens to f3.5 or 4.0 and you\'re trying to shoot indoors with available light - your lens may not let enough light into the camera to see the scene as well as you can with the naked eye. An f1.4 aperture lets eight (8!) times as much light as an f4.0 does and is why they\'re so expensive.

Try the same setup in a brightly lit (sunny day) scene to see if it goes away.

Good luck!

My polaroid iS2132 won't change settings when I turn the mode dial/Can't set the intelligent scene mode.

When you put the Mode dail to the SCN mode, It will enter the last used Scene mode. THEN press the MENU button to select other scene mode.
Don't turn any dail. Use the navigation controls left and right from the OK button, to move through the section. Press OK button to save and activate the selected scene mode.
