Bought my system back in August of 07 and I bought Assassians Creed. When I first started playing it was fine then it started to freeze up while playing. I would have to shut the system down and start over, sometimes it wouldnt freeze and other times it would. I bought the game i believe back in November. So after i beat the game it stopped freezing up. I just figured it was the version that was dowloaded with the game. After that, I would play other games, such as Madden 08, Ghost Recon 2, Jericho, Fear, Oblivion, and Resistance: Fall of Man. All of these games would start to freeze, including DVD`s and BluRay Discs. So, I tried to do a system restore on it thinking mayber it would wipe whatever was wrong with it. I was wrong, when I would go to load a game i was able to play for maybe 10 - 20 minutes and it would freeze up again and again. And now it is to the point where it won't even load a game at all. I had a problem where i put the disc in and nothing happens. so i spoke to sony today and they say a patch is coming out this tuesday to sort it out. 1000's of ps3's are having similar probs. roll on the 8th of jan...... hope this helps you

i dont really know why it is not playing because i got a x box 360 pro and i got assassin's creed 2 and it work just fine so go to game stop and ask them why its not working. :(
Oh dear, i'm afraid to say you've got one of the 'fatal' error codes. The error you're encountering means there is a major problem with the blu-ray drive (you're PS3 is pretty much shot)...
The only thing you can do is ring Sony's tech support and arrange for a replacement console. If you are still under their one year warranty, you will get a replacement console free of charge or if your console still works just dont play that game if it keeps freezeing its becuse of the blu-ray driver :( you would need to try setting it to factory def's or if that does'nt work try rolling back the firmware upgrades........or just buy a xbox 360..
If you aren't wiling to pay the servicing fee becasuse you've had it over a year or you didn't keep your reciept, then go ahead and either buy a new one, or go to xbox. issues like this happen with any kind of machinery that uses a disc drive.
Cord loose at the back of tv and or ps3? Check it and make sure its snug. Assasins Creed gives freeze problems. Try updating to the latest firmware for ps3.
Apparently the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed freezes the PS3 but this only happens at certain points in the game where a load happens. I don't think this is the case for you since you're saying that it doesn't even load the game.
Secondly, what do you have it connected to? SDTV or HDTV? Sometimes if the signal selected is not supported by the TV, it will not show anything.
Lastly, I would try to perform a system update by connected it to the Internet. This will download firmware 2.00 and might be able to help aleviate your issues.
