Hi i have panasonic Veira model TH-42PX70A my tv has stopped working i have no sound and no picture. when turn on the standby button flashes red. If try to turn on from standby mode the green light appears but nothing happens. What would be casuing this?

possible reasons, its in standby, hold in the proper ON button on the tv for up to 20 seconds gently. or try disconnect power(pull plug out) wait 10 seconds, plug back in and turn on using the actual button(holding for up to 20 seconds) NOT THE REMOTE if that does not work, make sure your INPUT is CORRECTLY selected eg you are viewing HDMI1 and NOT HDMI2 for example. there may be different procedures for flashing lights

have you already service the main unit, or you an initial check on the parts of the TV..

kindly post back the TV model/maker..

Panasonic TX-P42X50B No Picture Or Sound This plasma television ... TV repair, clicking and will not power on, loud snap,no picture, etc.

Flashing red light can sometimes be fixed by holding down the power button on TV until it stops flashing then turn it off then on again. Disconnect everything except power cord before trying this. Mine was fixed this way and saved $500+ repair. Still going over 6 months on. Worth trying.

Same issue with - Panasonic TH-50PX70A , power UP with red standby, then power ON by remote - only Gives GREEN led blinking 35-40 times, followed by solid green led with no no picture no sound.
>> Solution; unplug Plasma from AC 10-15min, then plug in & power on to Red standby led,, At this point - Power ON tv while holding down both -Volume Down and F (function Select) buttons (front panel door) at the same time turns picture ON,all ok.

Replaced the sc board and tv works fine again.

I think accroding to your model number this unit is plasma.
I need to know red light how many times flashing and correct model number

I own a Sony T.V. model #KV36HS510, Serial # 9024184,Event# E36002407 and it"s aTrinitron brand name. Like the problems before no picture or sound, stand by light on front of unit flashes. When trying to turn it back on you can hear the power click, like it wants to turn on, but does not.

Hi to all, My 42" Panasonic plasma have the same problem. It turned itself off and now red light flashes 7 times, than after short pause 7 times again. And so on. Any ideas what is wrong??
