You must have some kind of flame sensor and it sounds as though it is not working correctly. If the pilot lights and then goes off, I would look there first. Good luck...Lee

Martin Industries gas logs. Why don't they ignite?

The logs aren't supposed to ignite, they are made of ceramic, are supposed to look pretty and glow a bit.

Any gas appliance that doesn't light, even though the pilot is alight, is usually due to a failed thermocouple. You need a registered gas engineer.

I have a an comfort glow vent free propane gas space heater model CGP20T it is new In the box at least 15 years old brother lost I lnstuction book what do I need to run this

These are normally not much different than a standard gas water heater as far as hookup and operation. If you know that, your mostly on the way. May have auto ignition, lights only during operation, or standing pilot, which would be lit, and stay lit. Good luck, be careful

Pilot light stays lit but burner on gas logs goes out

You may need a new pilot assembly. Typically one of two issues result from a bad pilot assembly:
1. The pilot won't stay on after lighting it
2. Pilot stays on but logs won't light.

Depending on the unit, you may need a new thermopile or a whole new pilot assembly.

Gas fireplace wont stay lit- it is a sealed unit so can taccess the pilot or gas holes in the logs. is it safe to remove glass panel?

Yes, removing the glass is safe, if you do it carefully, so as not to break it. Put it well out of your way, after removing it. In fact, removing it is the only way to access and service the Pilot Assembly and the Burners.

If the pilot won't stay lit, there are several things that can cause this on a Direct Vent Gas Fireplace:
  • The direct vent on the outside of the house is block or clogged.
  • Wind is blowing back through the direct vent, blowing out the pilot.
  • Low gas pressure
  • A dirty pilot.
  • The thermocouple and/or Thermopile (part of the pilot assembly) has failed.
If you can provide me with the make and model number of your gas fireplace, I may be able to furnish you with an Owners Manual, that will help you to continue to troubleshoot the problem.

Hope this helped you.

I have a Comfort Glow ventless gas heater that we only use for emergency heat during the winter. The last time we tried to use it the pilot light lit perfectly and burned perfectly when the knob was...

This sounds like the connection for your thermocouple has lost a good connection.

Try this link to see how to properly clean and seat your thermocouple.

Pilot light won't light on ventless fireplace

Ventless Gas logs, Vanguard, VS30PR. Propane gas
Pilot light stays lit various times, sometimes for several days then other times for a few minutes. Lights best when temp outside is below freezing. Pilot flame appears to receive too much air. How do you adjust the pilot flame? Is this done using two screws marked A & E? Do you have suggestions?
Thanks,
Ed

Remove the small copper colores tubing going from the gas valve to the pilot assembly. Take it to a good hardware store that sells heaters and ask them for a new one.It is called a thermocouple.

Have Model CGP30TB Copmfort Glow propane heater. Pilot light won't stay lit. Flames also coming from what seem to be air vents just below flame on pilot light.

sounds like an obstruction in pilot assembly.try using canned compressed air to blow directly into pilot. this technique is successful about 70%. if not, pilot assembly must be removed and cleaned thorougly
