Hi
The mic on my Nintendo DS Lite seems to have stopped working all of a sudden. I've tried to find an adjustment in the control settings but can't. Any advice on getting it working again please?
Thanks
Thanks to both of you for replying. I have tried to speak into the mic at different distances but it still doesn't work.
It is still under warranty but as I bought it from Amazon I wanted to try and avoid sending it off and losing it for weeks on end.
I have bought a plug in headset with mic and it arrived this am so I'm going to try it out. Thanks to both of you for replying. I have tried to speak into the mic at different distances but it still doesn't work.

If the unit was dropped it could be that the microphone wire has broken off the back of the microphone or that is has become unplugged from the main board. Both are easy fixes but would invalidate your warranty (if there's any time left on it)

you can fix it just replace it but it means nearly completely stripping down your ds as the mic is fitted in the top part and plugs into the motherboard in the bottom part.
most likely its not the mic. do you use earphones on your system. If you do then its the pins inside were the headphones go. When the pins get bent it stops the mic from working
The microphone level can only be adjusted in certain games. Have you tried using the mic in any other games? Most likely, the mic is simply defective; I have heard of more than one case of manufacturing defects with Nintendo DS microphones. How long have you had the system? If it is still under warranty, Nintendo should fix the system for free.
My Nintendo ds lite also would not respond to voices. I have brain age 2 and Zelda. In the Zelda options there is a mic test. This will show a graph bar that measures your voice. Well the mic was not working at all for either game. I simply took out the battery and held the power slide for a couple seconds. Amazingly the mic works now for both games. I do not know if moving the power slide is significant, but on computers to de-static them you remove all power sources(battery and ac adapter) and hold the power button for 10 seconds.
