Direct tv came with apartment. has never worked says NO Signal on the screen I had cable put in but why pay for somethiing that is already included? I have tried everything but since it is not in my name the direct tv wont answer my ???? There are 2 cables in here and I have tried them both. The time warner cable guy hooked one right up no problem and disregarded the other cable even though it is closer to the tv....please help thanks....( i have followed the cable to the dish and it appears to be connected and the owner did get an entirely new box for me but it is the same as the old one) .

When we see the No Signal message moving around our TV screen it means our cable TV service is not available. If you have a satellite dish for your TV, the "No Signal" also probably means there is no service.

If yours is cable TV service, if you have not already done so, I suggest you pick up your phone and make a call to the number for your cable TV and ask to be connected to a technical service representative. You will probably need to have your cable account number and other ID handy when you make the call.

If yours is satellite dish service, again, call the TV service number. If you reside where there have been strong storm winds, the reception dish may have been blown out of alignment and it will need to be set back in the proper direction for signal pick up.

3.is the tv getting an input signal , assuming that the answer to 1 &2 was yes.
4. Is your cable box plugged in.
5. are all the connections into your cable box connected
or did one fall of
6. did you pay your cable bill on time.
If your cable box is bad , the cable company should fix or replace it for free. If you or someone else unhooked the connections,say by tripping over them,the cable company will restore the connections and chatge you a service call fee.
7. do you have dish or direct tv? either of those services will loose picture if it is raining out and picture wont come back until after the storm passes.
8. if you have dish or direct tv, and a branch,a person or an animal, a bird, has fallen on the dish/direct tv antenna, it may have misalligned the dish and it will no longer recieve the satalite signal. THere is a reallignment service
available;dish network charges $95.00 unelse you have insurance,like i do,so it only cost me $15.00 I never had direct tv soi could not say, but dish net claims direct tv is more expensive

You can allign the antenna yourself ,if it is not on a steep roof. You need one person moving the antenna & another person at the tv telling him if the picture is getting better or worse. The dish box comes with a built in signal strength gague for that purpose.

This problems,could be ur incomming broadcasting signal wire like coaxel wire like connect to tv ANT. hole input. or AV wires connection Y,R,W to ur AV input holes or those HDMI cables connections to it output HDMI ports.Take every connections of wires that are connected to the tv like input/out connections wires out of the tv.Now leave only AC power source turn on the tv and see if u get a tv LCD screen signal statics of snows only and U see no broadcasting tv incomming signal and only statics noises on the tv LCD screen only.Yes,than this problems,than it is not the tv problems,these problems it could well be caused by ur pay cables,satalites or telecomucations compannies signals broadcasting coaxel wire to the those compannies pay recieving boxes.Tries to unplug the pay broadcasting signal box u are using for about an hour.This well reset ur pay box back to the original and factory setting.Now,Ur box the paying incomming broadcasting tv channels signal pictures should return.If not talk to ur paying tv broadcasting signals commpanies for a replacement of the box u are paying for.99% of ur problems,i'm seeing u having is a broadcasting tv pictures signals that imcomming to the paying box u have a problems.This is not a tv set itself problems.
