PT53wx53g. I replaced the two convergence ICs and r170 (it looked brown instead of blue) I was getting the 3 blink error code. When I did a smoke test I got smoke, unplugged, resoldered the IC's and the set powered on. The green and blue convergence lines won't move. The red moves fine. Should I replace the other resistors? which ones are they?
You may need to check the two small resistors on the front of the baord as well. They are the power connections to you Convergence IC's, I have seen these charred and open. Just check them with a DVM or an Ohm meter to see what value they read. If they are close to 2 Ohms they most likely will be OK. But the other blue resistors will need to be replaced if they do not measure around 2.2 Ohms.

I will try to get that information to you about the resistors. Definatley check the soldering on the IC's and make sure that there are no bridges across the pins, even spider web bridges are hard to see.
It looks like R7060 +20VCD to pin 5 of each IC, and, R7086 -20VDC feeds pin 4 of each IC. These should be close to the STK packs.
I have attached the shecmatic page for your reference.
These are 0.27 Ohm 1 Watt resistors.
I hope this helps you.
Did this information help you get the problem resolved?
I Hope that it did, if you need futher help, that is why I am here.

You may of blown one of the IC during your first attempt at the repair. The Green should not move in customer menu. just red and blue. Replace the IC's again and make sure no bridges of solder touches any pins next to each other. Some times these resistors get hot just being near the Convergence Ic's and are good. Make sure u replaced it with the same value as the old one. Take the resistor out of the circuit and measure the Resistance. Also if it looks too worn, you can determine the value by looking at some of the resistors near the other ic's as they are the same value. The circuits for each IC is some what the same with slight differences.. You will also have to make sure the IC are getting B+ also. If the one ic is not working it may be missing the + or - voltage to the IC's
There are six resistors that have 2.2 ohms 2watt marked on them replace those 6 resistors.

done & done. Still unable to get the green & blue lines to move.
Do you know the # of the two small resistors? I replaced resistors r711 through r716. Still unable to get green & blue lines to move. Perhaps resolder IC's?
Thanks
